Macro Recording

When you connect to the host and run applications on the host, you will find very often you need to type in certain sequence of characters or control keys. You may want to automate those procedures and be able to input a series of typing with just one mouse click or keyboard stroke.

Secure KoalaTerm scripting allows you to do just that, but you might not want to write any codes in the scripting language. In that case you can generate a script automatically by recording macros.

A macro is a series of characters or control keys you would type into the terminal and send to the host. Between the characters, you might want to insert some delay, for example, you might need to wait for the host application to respond before you continue to type. When you use the macro recording feature of Secure KoalaTerm, all your typing and delay are recorded into the macro.

As the result of macro recording, a Secure KoalaTerm script is generated automatically, and you can save the generated script in the following ways:

• You can assign the macro into a definable button on the Secure KoalaTermbutton palette. Later on, when you want to replay the macro, just click on the button;
• You can assign the macro to a key or a key combination. Later on, when you want to replay the macro, just press the key or key combination;
• You can copy the script into Windows clipboard and paste into other Secure KoalaTerm script, or save into a script file. The saved script can be run later in any way that you would like to execute the script.

You can also modify the generated script (for example, adjust some input or delay) before you save the script.
